June 23rd, 2007 Rexburg, ID
KBR and Hansen Performance put on the South East Idaho ATV Drags, in Rexburg, ID. We had a pretty successful turnout, with about 40 racers, competing in 6 classes. We had classes from kids to nitrous drag bikes. Kam entered his 480R Honda in the mod class, Marty entered Monte’s 470 YFZ in the same class, and Monte rode the KOS in the Unlimited class. Kam lost out pretty quick (work on that launch), Marty battled to 3rd place, and Monte took 2nd in the Unlimited class. Monte ran the fastest time of the day in an earlier round, but got bit by the red light bug in the finals against Misty Hansen, on her HP 523 YFZ. Monte needed a perfect run to beat Misty, she was riding really good, and her bike was running equally well, he tried to get her on the tree and it got him by .005 of a second! Congrats to Misty Hansen for her win. Lenny Klein from Klein Racing rode his nitrous powered YZF600 Powered Custom Klein Chassis to the overall in Power Adder class. John Voss rode his 543 TRX to a win in the Mod class. Lenny Klein also took his Gas Gas 300 to the win in the stock/super stock 2 stroke class.
June 12th – June 15th, 2007 St. Anthony , ID
KBR traveled up to St. Anthony Sand Dunes for the 5th Annual Flatlanders Invasion. The Flatlanders are a group of friends from the Midwest who travel out west every year for their pilgrimage to the sand. We had a pretty good week, good riding, good weather, and good times. We experienced the usual St. Anthony mishaps, sore thumbs, sore butts, and running out of gas. Kam, Brandy, Marty and Jeremy Stansfield went for the ride of our lives in Jeremy’s Tatum twin Turbo LS2 powered sand car, let’s just say that baby passed the rollover test with flying colors! Thanks Jer, that was a great ride! Thanks for splurging on the top of the line car, I think we needed it!
May 25th – May 29th Memorial Week End , Little Sahara, UT
We all went down to Sand Mountain , UT for the annual Memorial Day trip. The weather was good, until Sunday, when the wind started blowing and did not stop until Monday. We bolted the nitrous bottle on the KOS, hoping for a 75+ mile per hour run up the big hill, but instead we burned up the piston on our first hard pass on the bottle. We had planed for the worse, and after a trip to Delta for some supplies, we built a new engine in the trailer and came back bigger and stronger than before. We had the fastest 4 stroke there all weekend, running about 62 mph. Martin Mccallister’s 700R stock bore, we built, was the second fastest, so it was a good weekend for KBR.
